  • Eclipse over Lion’s Head

    A lunar eclipse happened some time back. The images show Lion’s Head and the night hikers lamps. Lions Head is part of the Table Mountain National Park. Lion’s head is a popular hike and is done regularly at night especially when there is an interesting astronomical event happening as in the images below.

  • Orion Setting over Lions Head

    At this time of the year Orion sets directly over Lions Head. This year there were clear skies and very little pollution due to lockdown. There was as always light pollution a hazard in astrophotography, but I still got a reasonable picture.

  • Fire on Lion’s Head

    There was a huge fire on Lion’s Head recently. It burnt all through the night.
