Load Shedding has its benefits

The local electricity utility Eskom has supply problems and they drop various parts of the country to ease the burden. There are some benefits.

Living in the middle of the city reduces the chances of good astro-photography till Eskom get it wrong, then the stars come out.

Table Mountain and Lions Head make wonderful back drops.

Rondevlei – Sans Water

Rondevlei has been drained in preparation for burning the reeds. So there is not a lot of water around. We got some good pictures though.

Nelson Mandela Memorial Service

I was privileged to attend the Nelson Mandela Memorial Service in Cape Town.
It was humbling and encouraging. We have come so far since 1994. The crowd mourned in unison. I was honoured to be part of that crowd.
